Boulis Hotel on Sifnos Island Greece, Kamares
|
Andonis, Lyn and their family welcome you to the Hotel Boulis, located
right on the sand in the middle of Kamares beach.
Our hotel is situated about 600 m. from the dock,
backing onto the patchwork fields of the valley
and facing the sunset over the sea!

The
stone hotel entrance leads to the reception/lounge
area, with adjoining breakfast room. From there
the rooms are arranged in a U-shape along wide
marble-floored hallways, which are open on one
side to the central courtyard and garden, with
path and hedges leading to the sea. The large
yard surrounding the hotel, once a lawn requiring
extravagant amounts of water, has been left in
recent years to grow only the dry-climate plants
suitable to the area.

|
The
hotel rooms are clean and comfortable, each equipped
with private bathrooms and balconies or verandahs,
refrigerators, ceiling fans, direct dial telephones
and central heating, as well as newly-installed
TVs and air-conditioners.

Our (optional) breakfast buffet can be enjoyed indoors
in the spacious breakfast room, or outside under
the vine-covered pergola in the courtyard.
Our afternoon refreshments menu includes coffee,
tea, soft drinks and fruit juice, but for a taste
of Sifnos try our homemade liqueurs and traditional
"spoon sweets" (fruit in heavy syrup)
or ask which of our other sweet or savoury homemade
delicacies are available.

Our
guests enjoy the extremely rare combination of
a quiet, rural position with easy accessibility
to bus stops, shops, cafes, tavernas, etc. The
water of Kamares bay is clean and clear and there
is an estuary not far from the hotel --- a mini
wetlands area recognised by the Mediterranean
SOS environmental group.

|
|
Although Kamares is the port of Sifnos and should be bustling, it has retained
its tranquil fishing village character, only really
becoming lively for a short time each day when
the ferries dock (and for most of August!).
|
|
|
Sifnos is one of the unspoilt, ‘undiscovered’
islands of the Aegean, reverting in the winter
months to a community of farmers and fishermen.
Justifiably famous for its cuisine and ceramics,
Sifnos also boasts an archaeological museum and
a folk museum, and is ideal for hiking, photography,
painting…………………or
just relaxing.
We hope to see you here and wish you a wonderful
holiday.
